Lord Shiva is the Supreme, which does not have any parents which never takes birth which is all alone without involvement with any of the creatures or creations enjoying in the Self. By the Lord Shiva’s divine blessing or the Great God incarnates or assumes human form for the purpose of teaching humanity as a disguise as the holy faith Sant Janardan Swami. He is the link between the devotees and God, for as instructed by the Lord, he serves, protects and inspires the servants of God. The Divine Grace of Shri Sant Sadguru Janardan Swami (Moungiriji) Maharaj was born in 24th September 1914, in a small village by the name of Tapargaon in Aurangabad District in Maharashtra (India). Born to devout parents Appasaheb Narayan Patil (ugale), and Punyashlok Sau Mhalsabai Appaji Ugale. His family was very reach.
His time of birth is said to be one of the most auspicious time on the earth. He had known as the Bhagwat Preacher and ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. It was said that grasped the preaching of Bhagwat in mother’s womb only. When he was in foetus, mother Punyashlok Mhalsa Devi had golden opportunity to hear Shrimad Bhagwat effect of the same was seen in his life. He expounded the principles of Bhagwat (A religious mythology by Sant Eknat, and Sant Jyaneshwar). Kisanrao Mohite Patil was father of Punyashlok Sau Mhalsabai Appaji Ugale. Kisanrao had 3 sons and 6 daughters. Out three sons Baburao used to do Eknath Bhagavat parayan regurly. Kianrao Mohite patil and Baburao both of them are Lord Shiv bhakt. When Punyashlok Sau Mhalsabai was pregnant she got chance to listen Bhagvat from brother Baburao. Thus Swamiji had Garbh sanskar like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Swami Vivekananda. Swami throughout his life discoursed the complete science of house holder along with religious principles. Like that of Lord Krishna, he enjoyed the cattle breeding for few days. During childhood he used to do 11 Maruthi Pradhakshina, he also worked as a farmer. He had congenital liking to know the almighty. He was aspiring to the omnipresence of God. And for the same purpose, he left his home to transformation others. In order to complete his purpose, he left his home and came to Andarsul (Taluka –Yeola, Nashik –District, Maharashtra) in a temple of Tekeshwar in Feb. 1952
When swami arrived at (Andarsul) Nageshwar Mahadev Madir, he started Arti, Bhajan, Trikal puja of Nageshar. Afterwards steadily folks attracted to him and start gathering to listen to holy preaching. Swami gives pravachan in 1952 and he did his first Jap Anushthan and Datta parayan.
There is an underground cave; he performed severe austerities for years. During the period of austerity, he did take little food. He kept maun(without talking) during the asceticism period. There only he had the grace of Sadguru and eventually he succeeded in his ambition to meet Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva paid three time appearances to him from Shivlinga. He had Tirth yatra(pilgrimage) over all India to perform pooja and meditations at four Dhams, twelve Jyotirlingas and seven Puris, which is hypothetically carry on by every single Sanyashi. Consequently after Tirth yatra the divine utterances Swamiji visit to the Pinakeshwar Mahadev to re-erect the declined temple. According to the divine voice, Shri Sant Janardan Swami reached at the mountain of Pinakeshwar. When the reconstruction of the temple was started, Swami told to dig the place about five feet deep and a great miracle was experienced by persons later they found weapons required for building work (Kuradi, Hammer, Tikav, Pavade etc).
In the end Pinakeshwar Shiva temple goes to culmination. Like that, he renovated huge and wonderful twelve Lord Shiva temples and Shri Hanuman temple. He also built a new magnificent Shiva temple, Vitthal and Dattatraya temple. His contribution for the progress of humanity was innumerable and insurmountable. Lord Shiva had gifted him a divine command with its help healed so many diseased people. He had liking for all religions without any caste or creed. He believed that all religions are equal and taught every aspect of life. They are the only streams which confluent in the ocean of Lord Krishna. He was a theologist. Also make people to learn agriculture, carpentry, masonry and education for livelihood to grow as a human being.
He was hardly studied any academic books, but having good command over all the scriptures, purnas and mythologies, likeas Vishnupurana, Ramayana, Bhagvat, Shivpurana et al. He gathered so many religious texts and composed some selective Shlokas and Mantras made a beautiful holy leaflet named ‘Nitya Niyam Vidhi’. It was not only a book but a counterpart of Swamiji. It has to be read twice daily and used to say “Jvancha Mukhi Viddhi Jan Tochi Khara Punyawa.”
He always offers selfless service to the needy and socially deprived sections of the people. Hence, people called him Nishkam Karmayogi. His mission was to worked with villagers to help them achieve their goals and teaches them to toil hard as well as constructing temples, homes for the destitute, digging wells, resurfacing roads in villages were a few of his actions as a 'Karmayogi'. Later People donate arid lands to Swamiji and converted those lands into lush greens flowering with gardens. Subsequently, Swamiji flourished paradise on the earth through his heavenly duties. Sant Janardan Swami Maharaj believed in the doctrine of morals and education for all. He believed in pantheism and set up number of schools and gurukuls, where deprived students could stay and learn the finer values of life.
These things are set up free of charges (vinamulya) and Swamiji always taught to preserve human values. His faith was that man must be a man and mankind is the equivalent of Supernatural being. By him the establishing organizational work on offerings and contribute in the form of physical hardship towards upholding the schools and Ashrams for the growth of the young students. There are seven such schools and 14 such Ashrams, twelve temples of Lord Shiva are established throughout Maharashtra. And the great spectacle happened in his life that two centuries were confluence. The two Saints born in two different centuries came together - RASHTRANT SHRI SANT JANARDAN SWAMI (age 75) was invited to attend the yadnya performed by SHRI SANT GANESH BABA (age 147), Tapovan, Nashik. Shri Sant Janardan Swami was the resemblance of Lord Shiva and Sant Ganesh Baba, the counterpart of Lord Ganesh came together and it was a unique opportunity for both the sanyasis. Shri Sant Ganesh Baba being a devotee of Lord Ganesh, accepted Shri Sant Janardan Swami to be his Divine Father.
The preaching of Shri Sant Janardan Swami mainly dispelled the basic ignorance and illusion about the thinking of spiritual, ethical and religious knowledge. He enlightened the ideas of people about 'Satwik', 'Rajas' and 'Tamas' Gunas. He advised to suppress and check the hatred & cruelty among the community. His basic tenets for humanity are noble virtues and devotion towards divinity and bestowing affection to all natural worlds were permeated in the hearts of scores of people. The great Sant Janardan Swami addressed the truth of life in a very easy way and the explanation of the scripts urges to state small parables to solve the issues and problems of the admirers & his disciples. To deliver the holy message, he travels across the country. His born in this world is said to be pre-decided and decease was also preplanned. And before his demise, formed a trust; it is registered in a Government record, so that nobody should claim the inherited rights for his wealth.
